Is it okay for me to mail the letter of recommendation?
I know usually the teachers mail it directly to the institutions, but my teacher just gave me like 10 copies so I would have the freedom to do whatever with it. Would universities think that I faked it?

If you type up the address and the return address on an envelope and mail the letter, colleges really won’t know that you mailed it (as opposed to having handed your teacher stampled envelopes with the correct college addresses so he could mail the letters himself.) And in the very unlikely event that someone thinks you faked it, a quick phone call or email to your teacher will confirm that he did, in fact, write the letter.

It’s perfectly fine. My d had to do that when her favorite junior year teacher moved out of state. He sent her the letter to mail out since he wrote it before she knew where she was applying.

No problem.
