I don't really keep any of my graded papers, so I literally don't have anything to send to Vassar for my writing sample! I got an A- on the first paper we wrote in AP English this year, but I threw the graded paper out a while ago (we just wrote a paper a week ago but we won't get it back until after winter break).

Is it acceptable to print a copy of the paper (I still have the word document) and have my AP English teacher attach a note proving that I received an A- on it? I don't know what to do!

Can you ask your AP teacher to regrade your essay, so that there are teacher comments on your submitted graded paper to Vassar? It's an imposition, but you're in a bind.

BTW, it's not a good idea to throw out all your papers, anyway. You should keep them at least until the end of the grading period, so that if the teacher somehow makes a mistake in recording your grade, you have proof of it. It has been known to happen.
