Hello, I got wait-listed at a certain local university. My friend says that he got accepted, however he is not going to attend that university. He claims that I can "take his spot"? Is there such a thing as this? Thanks in advance.

uh no. he can't just give up his spot and say, here friend, why don't you take my place instead? there's a waiting LIST, with dozens of others in line for a spot. what he's saying isn't supposed to be taken literally. "you can take my spot, man".. that means you have a slightly budged chance of getting off the waiting list, the more people decline the admittance. it'd be nice if that happened, but that doesn't exist dude. good luck

No .. definitely not

thanks for fast responses.

wow...can imagine if that was allowed? Like, here...my friend will be taking my spot at Harvard!

I got accepted to 9 schools. I wish i could sell the other 8 acceptances...I would pay for college.

They really should allow other people take the SAT for you, too. It would be like in baseball with the DH.

I would be rich if I could sell spots...
