On CSS, it asks for 2010 information and 2011 estimates. Currently, my family only has 2009 ino and we are making 2010 estimates, so how are we supposed to make estimates for 2011? I am applying EA.

Anybody? Please!

Do you expect everything to remain the same for 2011? If so estimate using 2010. If something is expected to change make your best guess and explain in the notes/comments section. For example if a parent is currently unemployed you would hope he/she would get a job next year but you can’t really know. In that case I would put in unemployment and make a note in comments that the parent is currently unemployed and collecting unemployment.

You should use your most recent pay stubs and look for your year to date income and taxes on that. Then add in what you will earn and the taxes for the months of November and December. That will give you a very close guestimate for 2010. For 2011, just put similar numbers unless you know that you aren’t going to have the same income…next year when you reapply for financial aid you will have to put the accurate 2011 numbers anyway.
