URGENT Questions about Quiet and Wellness Corridors

Hi, I was admitted off the waitlist, and couldn't access the housing form till yesterday. And I'm now having some questions concerning the wellness and quiet corridors.

First of all, I’m wondering if the wellness and quiet housing would be an entire building, floor or one of the corridors. And would these sections be somewhat isolated from the regular housing because of the special regulations? Or would there be a gap between these sections and the rest of the hall?

Also, I learned from the website that illegal substances, smoking, and fur-bearing or dander producing pets are not allowed in wellness corridors, but I thought these wouldn’t be allowed in regular halls either. Maybe pets are allowed in regular corridors?

And as for the quiet corridors, I’m wondering what terms the noise code would include as I don’t have a general idea of how a noise code is like. Also, I noticed on the description that the noise level difference between regular housing and quiet housing would be that between louder discussions and music with doors open and noises contained in the room. So I’m wondering if there would be many loud discussions or music playing with doors open in regular halls, and what would be the approximate noise level in regular halls, especially the level when it’s bedtime for the most (around after 11pm). (Also, would the noise level still be relatively high at night in regular halls, or would it be basically the same at night in quiet corridors and regular ones?) Also, would it violate the noise code to play music with my room door closed in quiet housing? And since no registered party is allowed in quiet corridors, would that mean I won’t be able to go to house parties if I live in the quiet section?

Generally, I’m trying to figure out what I should expect for regular housing section, and for the wellness and quiet corridors so that I could know how interested I would be in the two options. Any advice?

It’d be wonderful if you could get back to me as soon as possible since it’s getting super close to the deadline.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

S1 lived in Wellness for his first year. It helped him find an instant group of like minded people - he said the Quiet corridor was not necessary ( he likes to play music) but also emphasized the the Wellness floor was quiet at night also. Sophomore and Junior years, he had no problems about moving into a regular corridor. He had no negative issues there either year. It depends on the dorm but some Wellness are just corridors and some entire floors but not entire dorms.

I would suggest if you are not a party type - pick Wellness for your choice for freshman year - it was just fine for S1.
