First of all, are there any facilities that are open past 12? (like other libraries besides the PCL?)

And second of all, is it ok if I register for classes at the PCL? I need to know the details on how to because I'm afraid that if I go to regular sign up, I wont get the classes I want b/c I'm in the last wave of ppl registration. Anyone there to help tomorrow?

To register you just log onto UTDirect, click on site map at the top, click academics, click registration, click fall 2009 and then enter the unique numbers of the classes you want. Make sure your bars are gone and everything and you should be set.

i would register in the library…I brought my laptop to the FAC incase and when i saw the huge line, i went ahead and registered on my laptop in the lobby…should be no problem unless your an idiot…

yes you’re right. :\ I’m just worried that there will be complications. Are there usually any? Do upperclassmen usually do it on their own? If so then I think it should be simple.

there won’t be any “complications”. Worst situation is that some of the classes you want to get into might be closed. Then you’ll have to sign up for backups and change it later.

yeah it’s incredibly easy to register. i remember i had the last time slot for my classes’ registration last week, and i waited in line for approximately ten minutes before i just gave up and went over to the PCL. i looked up my classes, searched for professors with good reviews on RateMyProfessors.com, and picked the most reasonably timed classes all in about one hour. it was pretty easy and efficient :)

Or… you can wait for the next orientation session and register when they do. Thats what I am basically doing for one of my classes that I didn’t get at orientation. I waking up at 8am tomorrow morning and registering for a different english class since thats when the registration opens, most of the english classes should be opened again :)

An Advice >>
Usually, you have two windows open. One window to Register for classes and the other one to look up the class that you want. What I would recommend is that whichever classes you have in mind (4 5 6 or 7)…open a separate window for every different class when you look up classes before the registration time slot opens up (I know firefox lets you open multiple windows at once but idk about explorer). That way, you can refresh any page for any class that you want to register for to see if it opened up or someone dropped it, selective teachers, etc. I registered on my own and it was pretty simple…didn’t really need help from the people who are usually there to help you out as far as technical issues are concerned. If it lets you, register for up to 17 credit hours in case and then drop whatever class you don’t need later or when you finish registration, just in case if you don’t get a class that you want so you have backup. All I can think of …good luck

I think I’m going to take calc408L. But UT hasn’t received my so scores yet. So should I do the registration on my own still? Can I register for this class if I don’t have the necessary prerequisite at the moment?

i have to get to the airport by around 2. on the 4th day to leave for my flight. do you think i will have ample time to register for classes? i think i need to talk to an advisor before choosing classes, because i want to switch majors as well as try for a minor. so i need to know what classes i should take to be most efficient in achieving my goals. and i cant find any of the reqs for the majors/minors anywhere on the college’s websites

You will need to talk to an advisor anyways to get your registration bar cleared. It is on day three that you get to do that. So I see no problem in your plan of action because you are allowed to register at 9AM on day four.
