Do college students need to buy their own little refrigerators for the dorm?

There is usually (but not always) a company on campus that will rent them out for about $100, or the cost of purchasing one of the refrigerators. They sometimes rent out microfridges (combined microwaves and refrigerators) if the school allows them. Not a bad deal -- they sometimes deliver them, too!

Microfridges suck because you cant use the microwave if the fridge door is open.

joey, why is that?

I suppose it could be a power issue (microwaves use a lot of power and in cheap combined devices, they try to save every penny).

I would just go with a fridge but maybe thats because I havnt owned a microwave for probobly 10+ years and I really havnt missed it one bit (I have an air-popper for popcorn).

I believe all the dorms at my school include microfridges (sadly) for free.
