How do I submit the Baylor app? Is e-mail acceptable?

I think it was a mail. Do you have an email where it can be sent?

Yes. There’s an e-mail on the application.

I’m just VERY confused because no where on the Rice/baylor website does it tell me how I should submit the app - mail, fax, or e-mail.

They want email.

The deadline for the Rice University/Baylor College of Medicine Medical Scholars Application is December 1. The preferred method of application
submission is by email to to riceapps@rice.edu with the subject line “Rice/Baylor Application Form”. If submission by email is not an option, mail
your application to Rice Office of Admission-MS 17, P.O. Box 1892, Houston, Texas ,77251-1892.

@texaspg: I searched the text you posted above on google, and the pdf application that showed up wasn’t the same as the one that I sent in. Though the essay questions are the same, my application version didn’t have all of that text about the deadline.

It just has "Office of Admission-MS 17 • P.O. Box 1892 • Houston, Texas 77251-1892 • riceapps@rice.edu • www.rice.edu/admission". My version does say 2013 though…

I sent my application through USPS mail, and it got there on time. Do you think that the slight difference in application format would pose a problem come April if I were to be considered for an interview?

Rice/Baylor is one of my top choices! Such an incredible opportunity, especially with the easy access to the Texas Medical Center.

Yeah, that’s the version I found, printed, and mailed too. But then again, it wouldn’t change anything because my computer can’t save text in a PDF file.

By happenstance, on my very first visit to the Rice Forum, I saw this thread last night, and alerted my kid who also had worked with an older version - I knew this, as I express-mailed the paper form and verified delivery by Dec 1 morning to meet the deadline. This morning, before heading out to school, my kid emailed the filled-and-saved-form to them with a simple explanatory note (was unaware, wish to comply, see duplicate in attachment, signed copy already received per tracking number, etc.) It is not necessary that you all do the same, but something to consider …

@tracked89 - Did you make a copy of the (signed) application before mailing it? If so, you could scan and email that instead.

I went through the Rice website to find the new form for this year which had instructions.

I guess there is an issue with multiple versions of the app floating around.

I had hand delivered my kids app last year. Rice/Baylor is one of the hardest programs to get into. Rice admitted 350 or so last year but only 45 were picked for interviews.

^Agree. The odds are LOTTO-like for all the tier-1 BS/MD programs (Brown PLME, NU HPME, R/B MSP, CW PPSP, PITT GAP, etc). While most rely on applicant self-selectivity, some schools employ some sort of pre-screening (HPME pre-app, GAP by-invitation-only). But, I suspect most readers of this thread already know these facts… Good luck to all!

@texaspg: You seem very knowledgeable about the R/B MSP. Do you know how many of the 45 interviewed last year were admitted? and eventually matriculated? Also mildly curious about OOS and ORM numbers too.

ps: Unable to PM, as a new member

Rice says there are 14 seats. I would think all seats got filled. The one person I know who joined was cleared off the waitlist on the last day for acceptance to Rice.

Did anyone receive an e-mail from Rice confirming the receipt of the Baylor College of Medicine supplement? I was just wondering if there was a way to ensure that our app for R/B was complete. Many of the other BS/MD programs have sent out e-mails…
