<p>Does Rice require one to take a certain number of humanaties classes?</p>
<p>I'm at Columbia and I have to take 6 required humanties classes + 3 non-tech electives</p>
<p>You have to take 12 hours of classes in various disciplines, but I don't believe any specific classes are required.</p>
<p>Are you tranferring or what?</p>
<p>You do need 12 hours each in 3 different fields of study, but usually your major is in one of the fields and you really just have to take 12 hours in each of the other two fields. No specific classes are required, though.</p>
