Urgent: SAT/ACT/ SAT Subject Test Help

There are a couple of things that are really bothering me:

The deadline is TODAY to sign up for the SAT or SAT Subject Test (Poor planning on my part I know), so please reply quickly.

Firstly, I heard recently that it's good to take at least 2 SAT Subject Tests. So far, I haven't taken any. Considering, that there is a month till the last testing date before the next school year and that I haven't take any classes in any of the subjects that the subject tests test on recently what is your advice? Or I should I just retake the SAT on that day instead of the subject tests in case I didn't get good scores on the SAT I took in May (the scores come out May 20th)?

Secondly, took the ACT in March and got a much lower score than I wanted...a 27, and that score got sent to the University of Michigan. I'm retaking the ACT in June and am expecting a significantly higher score, but will my March ACT sent score affect me negatively in any way?

I'm sorry for any ignorance and for the long length of this post. Any advice would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Retake the SAT and study for subject tests over the summer and then take those tests in October (that is what I am doing)

If you submit scores from multiple ACT tests to Mich, it uses the one with the highest composite to determine admission. If you submit both SAT and ACT score to Mich it uses that test it believes has the higher composite score for admission.

As to taking two SAT IIs, better to have done some studying before doing so. As to whether you actually need to to take them, that depends on colleges to which you are applying, higher ranked colleges tend to require them although not all of them do; most others do not. For example, Mich does not require them although it will consider them if submitted (most who apply to Mich do not submit any SAT IIs)

Thanks for the input.

I signed up to retake the SAT in June and after some more consideration I might register to take some Subject Tests in the fall.
