Urgent Short Questions!

So, I logged onto Wolverine Access today and I was upset because it said that my HS transcript, Teacher Recs, and Secondary School Report were not in. My test scores were and I assume my Common App. and Supplement were received (is there any way to check if these 2 have been received?)

Now, I called up UMich and the lady I spoke to said that when she looked up my UM ID she also found that those were not present but she said there is no reason to believe that they are not there; they may have not been processed yet.

So, should I be worrying? Should I check with my GC to make sure everything was sent in?

Also, on my status it says:
"Academic Career: Undergraduate L S & A"
"Academic Program: Lit, Science, & Arts UG Degree"
"Academic Plan: LSA Undeclared"

Why does it say this? On my UMich supplement I put down LSA and I put down Biology as my intended major and Cell, Micro, Develop. Bio as my alternative. So, why does it say undeclared? Should I call again and get this fixed up?

^Because you can’t actually declare your major til the end of sophomore year. No worries. Let the process unfold but watch for the receipt updates.

^What are receipt updates?

And I hope they don’t revoke my EA decision plan because UMich is my top choice! I don’t understand why it is taking so long though. I know they get thousands upon thousands of apps at this time but I sent everything in by the 22nd (my part). So…I’m just hoping it’s a backup and that my GC, teachers, etc. didn’t forget anything because they all told me they sent it all off.

Go to your commonapp account and check if the recs and school report were submitted. If you live in Michigan and used docufide to send your transcript, you can check the status of your transcript there.

The School Forms section has that green triangle, so I think they have been sent.

The green triangle, I think, only represents if YOU have done what you need to do. It doesn’t symbolize that all of the required materials were sent in on time. Click on school forms, and you will be able to see when UofM downloaded the recommendation and school report. If indeed they have downloaded it, then you should be fine. If they have not, because one or both isn’t done, it won’t show up as “downloaded by college” but show the status of not started, started, or submitted. If it hasn’t been submitted or submitted after Nov. 1, then you wouldn’t or shouldn’t qualify for EA.

It says:
School Report Started: 10/22/2010

Teacher Assigned: 10/21/2010
Recommendation Started: 10/21/2010

Teacher Assigned: 10/21/2010
Recommendation Started: 10/21/2010

So what does this mean? UMich has not downloaded it or the teachers + GC have not done their parts?

I can tell the teachers haven’t done their part, I’m not sure on the GC because I had mine sent in by mail so I can’t compare yours to mine. It seems to me that your teachers started, maybe even completed, your letters, but did not officially submit them.

At one point, my teacher recs also said “Recommendation Started: (date).” But once the teacher turned them it switched to saying they were submitted or completed. And now, it says when they were downloaded by the college.

I’d talk to the teachers and GC asap if I were you.

OK, so what exactly do they need to do? Submit the files? What should I tell them to do?

Will UMich still consider me for EA? This really isn’t my fault. I had my part submitted in by around the 22nd of October.

Just call them dude.

Call the commonapp people?

Call Michigan admissions and get advice.
They may not consider you EA – but see what they can do.

Yeah, you might not qualify for EA. I’d be really mad at your teachers and counselor if you, especially if you reminded them. If you didn’t, well then you didn’t do ALL of your part. All of those should say “Downloaded by College” and the date when it was downloaded. First thing you need to do is pursue your teachers and counselor to submit. Then next would be to call the admissions office and/or use online chat @ https://umich.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/umich.cfg/php/enduser/chat.php?p_sid=LHqjnOek&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0yODQsMjg0JnBfcHJvZHM9JnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT1hbnN3ZXJzLnNlYXJjaF9ubCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ</a> to let them know what happened and to clarify if you would qualify for EA or not. Good luck!
