I was having computer issues and my RD application to Cornell was submitted at midnight, a minute after the 11:59 PM deadline. Because of this, my common app says that my application was submitted on the 3rd rather than the second. Is Cornell still going to consider my application or will they throw it out because I submitted it after the deadline? Also, should I email Cornell admissions to let them know what happened? Please let me know! I worked so hard on my Cornell app and payed $80 (Which is a lot of money for my family) for the application and would hate to not see it be considered.
Thank you

you should definitely talk to an admissions person at Cornell or talk to your counselor.
Are you easter time or pacific time?
Call Cornell Admission Office on Monday. You may be OK.
And you didn’t get a waiver? See http://admissions.cornell.edu/faq/how-do-i-get-fee-waiver
You would not have this problem if you hadn’t waited until literally the last minute to apply.
Would they not refund your fee if it was deemed “late”?
@4kidsdad
I submitted mine on time local time (PT) but past midnight eastern time. It’s ok right?
I saw a news update that the deadline got extended to jan 9
@Pandabear101
I’m central time
@Pandabear101
Really??? Where did you see that?
@4kidsdad
My parents make a bit over $60,000 so I think that that’s too much for a fee waiver . The thing is that I have 2 siblings also in college and my mother is paying off her student loans from her doctorate along with a ton of medical bills so we don’t have much extra money to spare on college apps. I’m also applying to 10 schools and sending 3 ACT scores to each one which really adds up. Cornell’s $80 application fee was quite a lot and I would hate to give that up for no good reason.
@HRSMom
I’m not sure…
@welcometomylife I was looking at their news updates and I found it. If you google 2016 Cornell regular decision deadline it will also pop up. But on the update it doesn’t say the year so I’m not exactly sure if it’s correct. Did you submit it past midnight your time?
Could be 1/9/2014?
Why would it be 2014?
I think the january 9 extension is not for 2016 but rather a past year because it says in the message that the extended deadline applied also to mandatory interviews for Architecture and Hotel Administration, but the School of Hotel Administration no longer requires an interview this year.
You should definitely NOT talk to an admissions person at Cornell or your counselor. That’s absurd. Cornell is ecstatic you submitted your app. There isn’t an auto-delete feature for anything past midnight and your file didn’t get marked “slacker” either. Go relax.
Should I call them to check and see if my application is ok because I turned it in 9:30 PT which is past midnight ET.
@Pandabear101 Are you in PST timezone? If you are then you’re fine. Im in Cali so I submitted my app at 10:35 pm PST. I checked today and they downloaded everything.
