Urgent! Switching UCs after SIR deadline

<p>personal circumstances that occur within my family have gotten worse recently and i dont think it would be wise to move far away from home at the moment (i live in SoCal) so i dont think i can attend berkeley as much as id love to.</p>

<p>i still want to get a good education though and UCLA is the next best and i got accepted there too but yeah...sir deadline has already passed and im supposed to be attending cal. does anyone know if its still possible to switch? </p>

<p>would i still be granted the same financial aid, benefits of fall freshman etc etc? sigh. im really sad right now =(</p>

<p>I think it is too late. UCLA's housing deadline probably has past and the SIR date passed two weeks ago</p>

<p>^^yeah. but there's no guarantee. I mean, it probably happens often and people just make up excuses like illnesses (NOT saying you did, but others might), so they're probably pretty wise to that. UCB could release you from your contract, but I doubt UCLA will let you enroll there, seeing that multiple deadlines have already passed.</p>
