I am a High School Junior. The college I want to go in requires – SAT or ACT and 2 Subject Tests. I took PSAT but I wasn’t able to prepare for any tests because I had to move a lot last year.

Which Test should I take SAT or ACT or both(I dont think I have much time)? And Why?

Which book(s) should I buy?

Do I have enough time to prepare for these exams? (I have more than 3.85 GPA in High School and I am a High School Junior)

The due date to take exams for my college is DEC 2007.

The ACT has many points in its favor.
1. You're not penalized for guessing.
2. You can take it as many times as you want, and report only the best score.
3. The test content is more like what you've learned at school. Many students who take both the ACT and SAT do better on the ACT.
4. Some say it is easier to prep for.
5. If you report any SATIIs, your SATI score will be revealed as well, if you have one.
But if you were satisfied with your PSAT score, you should do fine with the SAT.
You'll have plenty of time to prep for both exams if you study over the summer.

Get a few used prep books for the SAT, ACT, and subject tests. You can do this cheap online. Try the practice tests in them and see which ones will give you the best shot at high scores. You have plenty of time for score improvement if you start soon.
