Urgent Teacher Recs Question!!!

I'm applying EA to Georgetown and I just asked my teacher for a recommendation today (eek, I know I'm a little behind the curve). My guidance counselor said to give teachers a month so I figured it would be fine. The teacher told me he could surely write me a letter but wanted to sit down and meet with me first to discuss what he could do to write a great recommendation. Problem is, he can't meet with me until October 15th (2 weeks from today), which is then only 2 weeks (17 days actually) from EA deadline.

Is it unreasonable to expect that after sitting down with me he could get my recommendation ready in 2 weeks? I didn't mention to him that my first deadline was November 1st. Should I go double check with him to make sure he can do it in time or would that put too much pressure on him and/or be an unreasonable thing to ask of him? Should I see if I can find another "back-up" teacher that can definitely write me a recommendation in time?

Thanks for any advice!

You absolutely need to let your teacher know when the deadline is. It is unfair to assume that you are their top priority. Apologize, explain, and don't put pressure on them to pull it off, but express that you would appreciate it if they do. Also note that Georgetown will not necessarily penalize you for a teacher sending in something late-- they assume you gave them enough time and that it was the teacher's fault. But it isn't exactly praised.
