I just realized that I stated the wrong year at one of my jobs in my work experience. What can I do about this? I don't want this error to get me rejected! Maybe that's why UCI has yet to send me any form of acceptance / rejection letter...

Relax, that will NOT affect your acceptance.

I posted this EXACT question about a week ago. Don't worry about it. It's not a big deal and UCI gave me an acceptance notification too.

Well, I am worried because if I have to send in proof of my ECs or work experience and they see that it doesn't match up with what I stated in my UC application then they will think that I am a liar! LOL.

Adcoms will understand human error. A lot of people besides you probably entered wrong work information as well. Not everyone will remember their exact workdates. So some months may be off, or they might make a yearly mistake like we did. I doubt they'll reject anyone for small errors like that.

I hope you are right. I heard that they are strict about ECs and work experience since a lot of people lie on their apps. I just don't want to be one of those people! I didn't come this far to be rejected based on my ECs or work experience. BLAH!

Where did you hear this?

Gabe and others on this forum.

and what did they say would be the penatly if you entered wrong information?

Your acceptance will be revoked.

Well that sucks, I made the same mistake you did and may be off by one month on another one of my jobs since I guessed the workdate. With the chances of my application being revoked being increased, can I still re-apply next year?

Being off a month or two is nothing to worry about. I think inputting the incorrect year will cause some problems. Yikes!

Bump, bump, bump it up!

the only thing i would be concerned about is.

Mistake grades

Not finishing IGETC

forgetting to wear pants when u come to class.

I'm almost positive that none of that will matter. I believe the fact that you actually DID what you said is more important than WHEN you did it. Of course it doesn't matter what I think but I don't see admissions officers revoking an admission over something like that. I think their spotcheck process is mainly to uncover cases where students blatantly lie on their application.

Time will tell.

Yeah, I really hope the adcoms don't check up on the fact that I cured cancer.

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget UCLA. You can get into Harvard.
