For COmmon app, is it ok if i sneak in another essay into the personal statement, because I equally love my two essay, and i want adcoms to see both.I am just hesitant if adcoms get annoyed at seeing that.

anyone wanna help me~plzzz

first of all, i wouldn’t recommend putting it in the personal statement part - it might get cut off/be confusing for the adcoms. If you really want to add it, you might try putting it in the additional info section.

However, I’m no expert on this, and I’m not sure if adcoms would find it annoying. If the two essays show two different sides of you, then that might be a good idea. But if they’re are just two completely random thoughts, you might want to leave one out.

I wouldn’t recommend it either. It’s the panic at this time of year that not only makes me pity my peers but adcoms everywhere. They have tons of applications to get through, and with regards to your whole application, that other essay won’t likely make much difference at most places. In a way, this also relates to how you’re supposed to cap your essays at a certain word limit. It shows that you can be decisive and concise, which is often harder than generating a lot of material (as this excessively long post might show ;-)).

Some schools are okay with additional essays, but I would research that first and not mass blast both. If you submit both anywhere, make sure they really portray significantly different things about you.

What you could even do, perhaps, is send one essay to some schools and one essay to the others by making different versions of your Common App.

i submitted a supp essay. i think it’s cool.

Hey Current, how did u send it? under personal statement, additional info or you mailed it directly to the school?
