<p>My wife was required to take History of Art; History of Architecture and History of Urban Planning ... and there were seminars from famous architects from time to time.</p>
<p>What she 'complained' about was that some arch schools put more emphasis on design. At Michigan, they required that everything you design must be build-able.</p>
<p>Wow, that's a lot of comments from both ends! Thanks for all the input. From everything that I've read, I think UMich and USC both balance each other out in terms of their strengths and the number of ppl who say that they both provide good education. I think I will be applying for UMich as one of my 6 choices as collegetown is what I'm after rather than a vibrant city-life of USC.
