Urgent!

Hi guys,

I have an important question to ask. I'm in the process of completing Part I of the GT application, and I have to indicate which school I'm applying to. I'm kind of divided right now between Georgetown College and the School of Foreign Service.

I've heard that SFS is more competitive to get into, which is really unnerving me. But at the same time, SFS is competitive for good reason, since it's highly regarded for international affairs. I know some of you will say apply to the school that your application is shaped after. The problem is my interest of and passion for international politics lie more in SFS, but they also lie in the Government degree, in which I can concentrate in International Politics, at the College. Both schools seem to be a fit for me, so I'm guessing it really just boils down to which school is easier to get into?

Georgetown is great in both fields, so it shouldn't be a huge problem. However, my interest in international affairs would probably be more suited for SFS, but right now I'm leaning towards the College just because I assume it's easier to get into. Should I think otherwise? I really need to make up my mind soon.

Btw, is it easy to transfer schools once admitted to Georgetown?
Also, can I have my interview after the deadline, or is it required to be before?

Thank you!!

The College has a lower acceptance rate, though many people like to claim that the SFS accepts more because applicants are “self selecting.”

If you’re going to get in to Georgetown, you’d probably get in to any of the four schools. I’d just apply to SFS so you won’t have to go through the hassle of an internal transfer.

It seems like you’re more interested in SFS, so you should definitely apply there. Remember that you can always take classes at the other schools once you’re in.
