The HS Class of 2015, considering enrolling in the URI Class of 2019, should start hearing decisions as we head into the end of January. Post here where you’re from, the decision, major and, if you’d like, stats. Good luck!
You can click on this link to see that acceptances were first posted on Jan. 23rd last year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-rhode-island/1588470-2014-accepted-students-thread-p1.html
friend spoke to an admissions officer the other day and they said that admission decisions should start being posted tomorrow (1/19) best of luck everyone!
I’m not sure if this is how it is for everyone, but my web portal tells me that I’ve been admitted with no other information. I’m in state and applied early action.
Daughter accepted today on portal. Says letter with details will follow. In state, applied early action Nursing.
Same with my son. Congratulations to all getting good news today and this week!
For those curious, as soon as we logged onto his portal it said:
Admission Status
The following is the status of your most recent application:
Congratulations! You have been accepted to the University of Rhode Island! Your letter of acceptance will be mailed soon, and it will provide specific information about THE MAJOR to which you have been accepted and other details about your acceptance to URI.
To reserve a space in the incoming class, please follow the instructions included in the brochure that accompanies your acceptance letter, or visit www.uri.edu/admission and click on the tab for “Admitted Students.” Then, click on the tab to “Pay Your Deposit Online,” and you may submit your deposit with a credit card. Your deposit must be postmarked by the date stated in your acceptance letter.
We are delighted to welcome you to the University of Rhode Island and hope you’ll choose to become a Rhody Ram!
We encourage you to check your “to do” list regularly, as we may request additional items during the course of our evaluation.
FYI: my son is OOS (NJ), applied early November, good, not great stats: 3.4, 1660 SAT. Excellent public service (150+ hours), working multiple jobs, clubs, etc. No sports. No impressive leadership roles. Intern for US Senator reelection campaign.
Got accepted as well. OOS (NY) & applied EA for pharmD program. Can’t wait to get letter in the mail, congrats to everyone accepted so far!
accepted business school 1720/3.4-4.0 8 AP/Honors, 2 college courses, athletics, work
oops, and OOS (NY)
Does anyone know if URI put any merit aid online, or will that come in the mail?
Was scholarship information posted with the acceptance notice online? If there is no scholarship information found, does that mean I did not receive an award?
Our on-line acceptance notification did not mention merit or scholarships. Was basic (I copied and pasted text above) congrats…a letter will be sent soon. My guess is (and this is purely a guess) on-line notifications right now are not addressing merit aid.
Accepted into Computer Science (BS). Stats below:
GPA: 3.5 UW
SATs: 620 Math / 640 Critical Reading / 550 Writing
Extra extracurriculars: President of Young Democrats, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) volunteer, etc.
Thank you!
Still have not heard back. Should I be worried?
@bridget627 nah…they just started coming out. People will be hearing through March and some into April. No one was expecting any acceptances until end of January, so it’s very early. On my S’s other threads, Penn State and UDel, people have been waiting for months! Way too early to be worried!
Okay I was hydro worried because I applied early action. Hopefully will be hearing back soon! Than you @brucemag
Just checked the portal and our daughter was accepted. Doesn’t say which program but she applied for Psychology. OOS (Mass.), GPA just above 3.5, SATs about 600 each. Hoping they will offer some type of scholarship, without any URI ends up being one of the more expensive schools on her accepted list.
Accepted by URI PharmD! I’m OOS from IL if that matters
