<p>Any opinions on which school I should attend?</p>
<p>I've always loved Northeastern, but lately I've been considering URI. University of Rhode Island has a beautiful traditional campus and it's pharmacy program is also very good- only ~100 applicants enroll into their program. It also will probably come out to being the cheaper option. I've been beginning to question whether I want to live in the bustling city or a smaller campus with a stronger sense of community.</p>
<p>I know I need to visit URI and possibly visit NEU again, but can anyone give me more insight if you are having the same dilemma or if you just know a lot about these 2 schools. How do they compare?</p>
<p>In my opinion, Northeastern by far. Although they have the same ranking (#46 on US News and World Report), this doesn’t factor in the benefit of the co-op of NU. NU students, with co-op, get valuable experience (and know if pharmacy is truly their passion), and this work experience puts them in favorable light when being hired. In Boston, they can get vast opportunities, working in any of the hospitals and such. And NU is expecting around 165 students this year in the Pharmacy program.</p>
<p>But if money is an issue, then go with URI. While NU is better in my opinion, it’s not worth tens of thousands of dollars more</p>
<p>I’m an upperclassman in the pharmacy program here at Northeastern. With the exception of a few bad profs, I’ve been very happy with the program here. I am pursuing clinical pharmacy and was able to land two co-ops at a very well-respected boston hospital. However, I do have friends at URI pharmacy. They all seem to be very happy with their experiences as well but do not have as impressive resumes as my classmates at NU. I’ve heard they’ve been increasing the size of the freshman classes each year at NU- i’m not sure if that will have a negative impact.</p>
<p>@nimee2- I want to do the same thing! What year are you? I’m also looking into going to Northeastern for clinical pharmacy. Do resumes play a big role in landing a residency after graduation? How hard do you think it is to land a residency graduating from NEU?</p>
<p>I’m sure I would be happy at URI as well, but I just got my financial aid package and URI came out to being just a little more than Northeastern after the subtracted costs. I underestimated the tuition at URI, which is ridiculous because I expected it to be much cheaper! Just one more package to go, but Northeastern is looking like a definite now. :)</p>
