Im accepted to URI 0-6 PharmD , St Johns 0-6 PharmD, Temple PharmD, and UConn PharmD. I was denied from Rutgers PharmD.
Im a New Jersey resident who is looking to become a pharmacist but i have a few questions. So far, URI seems to be on top because it is a 0-6 while only requiring a 2.5 GPA in the first two years. It is also only an interview to get into the professional years, which everyone seems to say the interview is extremely simple. This seems like the simplest route to become a pharmacist and I also got $54,000 for the 6 years which is low but decent. Is this program as ‘simple’ and straightforward as i envision it to be? Do you most people that start the P1 year finish and graduate? Whats the%? Any other tips in making my choice?
Your best information would probably come from the schools directly.
Your goal shouldn’t just be the easiest pharm d program to get into, but the one you can graduate from and get your professional license.
Look at NAPLEX pass rates of all the schools, also take into consideration the tuition for all P1-P4 years, they can differ a lot, and cost of living can also vary a lot depending on location.
Any loans you need to take out, you will have to pay back with interest. So limiting the amount of loans if possible, is a good idea.
Did you apply to Stockton? Did you get a scholarship? I think there is still a way to transfer into Rutgers pharmacy program if you start there.
