What are my chances at UVA? What will my SAT I have to be so that my chances are strong and I’m in at UVA? It is my dream school, thanks.

bump please

can anyone help???

maybe at UVa/prob not at Cornell and W&M/yes to the rest.

bump what if i brought my SAT score up to 2000?

You should really try to bring your SAT up to 2000. With a 1780, you do not have a chance at Cornell, meaning that they'll probably consider your application as "non-competitive" before it even gets out of the regional reader's hands. For UVA, you'd have a much safer application with a 2000 because a lot of people applying there have higher scores with just as good ECs as you have.

Heads up: I'm applying to UVA next year with a score of 2290. Just know that there's a lot of competition out there.

Yea I'm getting ready to prep full time for the October/November SAT's. I'm pretty sure I can get around 2050 at least. Would this be enough for UVA?

bump!!!!!!

You see here's the deal. I can appreciate that you are a brother and that it's still a difficult world out there for an African American student to take the lead with peer pressure etc. OK, I get that. But dude, seriously. I don't think the color of your skin or the fact that you are first generation is going to make the course load at William and Mary or UVA any easier for you. I don't think you show the ability to do well at either of those schools. If it were not for your race, you would have literally no chance at William and Mary or UVA. Sorry, but that's the way I see it. Yes, your freshman year sucked and it will cost you. I think if anything you will get a courtesy waitlisted status at both of those shools..........if that. Tech and JMU are not a sure thing either and your stats are iffy to both of those schools. It could go either way and your minority status will help there. George Mason..........you are a shoo in. Hope I didn't offend. This is just my opinion. I don't think a 3.2 should be accepted because of the color of his skin over a white person who busted ass. Best of luck! You'll do great wherever you land.
