Yes, but isn't it the case that when you early decision at Dartmouth, you can't apply to any other schools until you hear back from them? I was under that impression at least. That's why I chose early action, to apply to four schools instead of just one (and also for financial reasons, but that's irrelevant).

Also, I'm not completely questioning the credibility of this site, but there's some real discrepency between the responses posters give. I was told that with roughly a 3.7 and a 33 (w/perfect science score) I'd be a reach at most of those schools he listed, yet then he was told that he was 'good' all of them.

Maybe Affirmative Action? (I'm Hispanic). I don't know. We seem pretty similar. Do you play sports?

This is from the Dartmouth Website:
It is a violation of the plan for you to be an Early Decision candidate at two institutions at the same time.

Doesn't say anything about Early Action. Anyone?

You're okay. That is, if Dartmouth accepts you ED, and Notre Dame accepts you EA...you'll have to go to the former, which is what you want. Just as you can apply to RD schools, so can you apply to non-binding EA ones.

And, with respect to chances, legacy status, developmental candidates, geography, athletics, ethnicity, ECs, etc...do affect prospects as they give applicants a bump.
