What are my chances at: Bates, Skidmore, Pitzer, Kenyon, Colby, Hamilton, Occidental, Franklin and Marshall, Connecticut College, and Grinnell?.
UW GPA: 3.5-3.55
ACT: 30
I have taken almost all AP/Honors courses offered.
I go to a highly competitive public school in suburban Chicago.
School does not individually rank, top 20%.

EC's are very strong, lots of sports and community service.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Bates (test-optional): Reach
Skidmore: Match
Pitzer: Reach (it’s a reach for almost everyone, as Bates is)
Kenyon: Reach
Colby: High match (ECs might save you)
Hamilton: Reach
Occidental: Match
F&M: Low match
Connecticut: High match
Grinnell: Match

I think you have at least a 50/50 shot at all of these schools except Grinnell and Pitzer, which are reaches in my view. Agree though about adding some safeties (although I think you have a pretty high probability of acceptance at occidental and F&M). Here are some other schools that are closer to safeties to think about with a solid focus on writing (assume you are intereste din this , givemn choices of Hamilton, Colby, Bates, and Kenyon, which are all very writing intensive schools) --Wooster, Muhlenburg, Ursinus, Hampshire, and Denison.

If possible take a walk-in Chemistry SAT Subject Test tomorrow. If you hit 700, it will really help your application. If the score is below 650 then do not send it in. Since you are taking AP Chemistry, you may do quite well in it. Then, take the Biology Subject Test later in the year.

My point is that, ideally you should have three subjects in which you have either a 5 on the AP Test or above 700 on the SAT Subject Test for adcoms to feel really comfortable. Since you already have a 5 in Stat, two high scoring SAT Subject Tests (670+) would be great for your application.
