<p>I want to major in Political Science. I am an African-American that lives in a disadvantaged area. I also have several Academic Awards from school.
My HOOK: a 2wk. study abroad program in France.</p>

<p>I think your hook would be the URM status, but anyway,
your scores are a bit low, but it looks ok otherwise.</p>

<p>I saw your post at the Yale forum, too. I'd say go for it, apply to Princeton and Yale, as you have a chance (especially if you get your SAT score above 1400). All the same, it's really a crapshoot, and you're going up against students, including some URMs, with GPAs as high as yours, but with better test scores.</p>
