<p>I want to major in Political Science. I am an African-American that lives in a disadvantaged area. I also have several Academic Awards from school.
My HOOK: a 2wk. study abroad program in France.</p>

<p>you're looking in pretty good shape to me. at least very competitive. but i dont think a 2 week study abroad program is a hook, i mean, its basically a glorified vacation. don't undermine your excellent stats w a silly thing like that.</p>

<p>SAT score is kinda low, even for a URM. and as filmxoxo said, a trip to france isnt a hook, even if it was study abroad.</p>
