URM question

Hi,

quick question. If I were to apply to a top law school (top 5), how big of a role would my race be?

Note that I am not an American citizen, but a citizen of an Arab Gulf country (lol the biggest one...you guess :P), although of Arabic(past 3 generations)+Asian(maternal great grandmother)+Jewish(paternal great grandfather)+African(paternal great grandmother) heritage :S I don't even look arab lol

what race would I be and how much of a factor is that in admissions? I highly doubt that many people apply from my country to top law schools, or maybe very very few with good enough grades+LSAT scores

Thanks

It doesn’t matter the country. You’d either be considered white or Asian, which won’t help you at all. The only way race could help you would be if you were: African American, Hispanic, or Native American.

I’m not an American citizen either. I wasn’t born here. I was the only one in my senior class from this particular country. My race on every form is still “caucasian”.
