To have a realistic chance, you should shoot for at least a 700 on one of the sections that count.

Okay. Can do. Writing doesnt count right?
So either math or critical reading…critical reading it is then :p

just so you know, even with that, you’re still a longshot… if you get a 1500 on the parts that count, you are almost a shoo-in to get in at least one of them.

The higher the better; there are no thresholds.

Yea you’re right.
The SATs are soooo annoying! lol
im just going to have to buckle myself down and try harder this time.

All the sections count, including writing for all the Ivies (Except Cornell I think).

The middle 50% of students at Harvard scored between a 690 and a 780 on the Critical Reading section, between 690 and 790 on the Math section, and between 690 and 780 on the Writing section. Princeton and Columbia’s score ranges are kind of comparable; Georgetown’s is a bit lower (650-750 for Math and CR).

So I’d say for the BEST prospects, try to get your scores at least into the 700s. If you can make mid-700s, you should be OK - it’s not a guarantee, but your chances are higher than with what you have now.

^ Those SAT ranges have changed (they have gone up).
