Does being an URM affect or have some kind of influence on your chances of being accepted into Stanford. I have heard some people say that your scores and grades are not expected to be as competitive as other students', is this true though?

I'm Mexican American and know that I would love to get into Stanford for dozens of reasons; it had been my dream school for years. However, is this myth of "having it easier" as an URM applicant true?

Yes, being URM helps, but it does not get you in automatically.

You already started 3 threads asking the same questions, and getting the same advice.

Your chances of getting in with 1540 on SAT are very close to 0. So instead of trying to get the answer you want on a "chances thread", just study for the test, and get a better score.

agree with nngmm. URM status is a plus just like being a legacy is but that's as far as it goes. I have a ton of URM friends and all of them are just as smart as the rest and have equal grades.
