URSA Consensus......

i dont think that URSA has anything to do with anything. my boyfriend and mine look exactly the same, say exactly the same things-- everything that you guys are posting. He has a 3.0 and applied to Cinema (the major that only accepts 15 people and maybe even requires a 3.2) and did not complete gen ed req. and I have a 4.0 with all the gen ed finished and only 1 major class req left that i am taking now.

^ if thats true the entire URSA theory goes out the window

Did your boyfriend get selected for an interview?

And, no, I don’t think that throws it out the window. History shows that it is a precursor to an acceptance.

erc2009 has one post…

Hopefully someone isn’t trying to get us all here losing hope haha

yeah…and maybe your bf was an exception because cinema does require true skill and stuff rather than simply prereqs and gpa

haha I was thinking the same thing

That is why I posted my stats as well and showed some concern over URSA. I thought bio majors needed a year of bio and I dont have it, I just have all the other pre reqs done and an extra math class in calc 3 which they dont require. But I still see my FA

cubmann,

what’s your gpa…I don’t believe you’re REQUIRED to finish all three, but as much as you possibly can…and that’s how they accept you

no i am not trying to get anyones hopes up, in fact that is what you guys were doing for me so i had to check ursa and got excited, but then checked my boyfriend who did not get interviewed by the way. maybe the only way to be a bit more confident about whether your in or not is if your thing says on campus housing. but that is one of the options you have to select from when filling out the fafsa if i am not mistaken so still who knows.

I’m just surprised that your boyfriend even considered applying to UCLA with a 3.0 and no GEs done. Either he got a fee waiver, or he knew he had something UCLA wanted. That or he likes to waste money.

he has an amazing personality and an essay that would blow you away, great life experiences, and of corse got a fee waiver. and GEs well he has to finished foreign language and another class in the summer, so you never know, why not apply. besides cinema isn’t about getting As in Math and Biology if ya know what i mean.

let’s just hope that you both got in  …assuming you both saw the FA summary :)

UCBlove- My GPA is a 3.85 so I think thats pretty strong for the major, hopefully you are right about the pre reqs and the FA summary theory is correct.

“he has an amazing personality”

hahah

that aside, even if there is ONE exception to this ish, what’s ~150 (that we know of) to 1 prove?

i say: consensus stays.

you guys were all asking for exceptions to post, because you weren’t sure if it was true, so i posted. now that an exception is posted your sure its true. if your so sure now then why dont you start celebrating

your “exception” isn’t really an exception though. your boyfriend hasn’t been rejected, it’s just that his stats aren’t top notch. doesn’t mean he won’t be accepted.
now if you said your boyfriend applied last year and saw FA on URSA and got rejected, then that would be a valid exception to our little URSA theory
and i’m sure some of the people who saw the FA did celebrate, my mom did a happy dance.

she said he didn’t have an interview, correct me if i’m wrong but i don’t think you can be accepted without one for that particular area.

^ ok now i am worried.

me too :frowning:
maybe I shouldn’t have told everyone I got in… LOL

whats going on? why are you getting worried if you saw your finaaid summaries? we’re fine, I think to this point we should wish the people who can’t see it luck for this week so they can see their finaid summaries

i keep checking my summary because somehow in my mind i keep thinking that it might disappear. LOL
