URSA Online - incorrect Parent Contribution Amount

<p>In looking at my sons URSA Online Financial Aid Summary page... it shows his total COST OF ATTENDANCE to be approx. $29,000 and yet it shows the PARENT CONTRIBUTION to be $43,000! Why is our contribution $13,000 higher than the total cost to attend? This makes no sense. </p>

<p>I have emailed the Financial Aid office 3 times about this since June 14, no replies.</p>

<p>I have spent 3 hours total on the phone trying to call the Financial Aid Office - never getting through.</p>

<p>So frustrating :(</p>

<p>The $43K figure should be from FAFSA, the amount that the federal government has determined, through its algorithms, that your parents should be able to pay for your education given the income they made last year. It will be $43K regardless of where you go and in UCLA’s case, where it is estimated to cost $29K a year for you to attend, you are ineligible for for financial aid.</p>
