I decided to post this for those who want to apply in the future and to see who else has been accepted and is considering going!

ACCEPTED!

SAT: 1870 (650 W, 600 M, 620 CR)
SAT IIs: US History 710
GPA: 96.5 out of 100 weighted
APs: US History (4), Government, Calculus AB, Literature

EC: Softball - 9,10,11,12
Academic Team - 11,12
Yearbook - 10,11
National Honor Society - 11,12
Eucharistic Minister - 12
Altar Server - 9,10,11,12
Work at my family farm - 9,10,11,12

Essay: I was told by one English teacher it was very good and unique. I wrote about my experiences growing up on a farm so it was definetely unique

Recs: Got 4, 2 from teachers, 1 from guidance counselor, 1 from priest. I saw one from 1 teacher and it was good, he talked about how I work hard and how I bring great personality to the classroom. I saw the one from my priest too, he just talked about how I am reliable and a hard worker. I didnt get to read the other two but I believe they are good, I was told by someone who did read them that they just reiterate that I am a hard worker

I loved Ursinus when I toured it! They made me feel so special and I could see myself being very happy there. The only drawback is I wish it was closer to home. I am still waiting to here back from my first choice and if I get in there Im probably going there, but if I do not get in there Ursinus is a very real possiblity!

I got a 15k a year scholarship. I will not be accepting it though, I got into my first choices s hook closer to home so that’s where I am going.

Heyyy Im so excitedddd because Ursinus is my 1st choice school. I got my acceptance letter in early November and got an achievement award scholarship this past week! Im so excited to go YAY!!!

So, you guys that received merit scholarship notification already, did you apply early action? My daughter was accepted, but the letter implied that financial aid offers wouldn’t be available until much later this spring, which makes the acceptance kind of meaningless.

accepted, 30k. Yes, I applied early action - received my acceptance in late november and the scholarship notification a month later. I don’t think financial aid is until spring, though.

Thanks for answering. Checking the website, it seems that ED admits get FA offers with their acceptances, while EA admits wait with the regular decision candidates for FA information.

The merit scholarships seem to be awarded already for EA and ED, is that the case?

My daughter got a scholarship - yay! So we didn’t have to wait til spring afterall. But do merit scholarships “stack” with need based aid or will it just reduce need aid? That’s the question!

My son was accepted last week (Regular Decision) and discovered his acceptance when he logged onto the online portal for tracking his application status! His stats are:

weighted GPA: 3.797 (unweighted is around 3.65)
SAT: 590 Writing 630 Math 660 Reading (my son does not test well)

I think they really liked the copy of the graded research paper that he submitted, because immediately afterwards he received the acceptance, and we are still a couple of weeks away from the regular decision deadline, never mind when they say they typically notify for regular decision (March and April)

He will definitely be going to the Senior Capstone day for accepted seniors on Friday, March 30 as Ursinus is one of his top 3 favorite schools.

My daughter did receive a 10K scholarship but the tuition is still a BIG reach for us… sad because she is in love with this school… and I myself loved it as well.

Received acceptance letter in Sept and achievement scholarship in December, now just waiting for financial aid package and hopefully a little more financial aid cause the tuition is steep. Very excited though. Love the school and hope to be there in the fall!

Has anyone had any experience with financial aid at Ursinus ? Wondering if what they offer. I really want to go to this school but it will depend on the cost in the end.

I applied last minute and was accepted one week later! Still haven’t heard from them regarding merit scholarships / financial aid. But I won;t find out about FA for a while. Visited campus recently and liked it. Everyone there was so nice and buildings were nicely renovated.

it’s nice to see parents (especially moms) so involved in their children’s college choices. I, however, applied to Ursinus on my own accord (I live in Arizona!), and received my highest merit scholarship from Ursinus (20k). I applied last minute like some on this thread, and was wondering what Collegeville is like. I have been to Philadelphia (Penn), but I imagine the suburbs to be different. I’m still waiting on the April 1st decisions but Ursinus seems like an excellent lib arts school.
