I think most major corporations would be willing to if you have the kind of credentials they are looking for.

"I think most major corporations would be willing to if you have the kind of credentials they are looking for." - WRONG!

A lot of major corporations do not hire international students at the Undergraduate Level , example IBM , Intel in the Technology sector. There isnt a comprehensive list out there ,since it varies a lot for sector to sector , but please dont assume if its a company that you would have heard of it hires intl. students, your best bet is to ask the company itself , a lot of companies make "exceptions"(rarely these exceptions are made at the undergraduate level) but most of them dont since its company policy. If you want any specific info related to a company or a sector , hit me up ill try to tell u what I can from my experience.

"A lot of major corporations do not hire international students at the Undergraduate Level , example IBM , Intel in the Technology sector."

And at a higher degree like Master of Science?

Masters has it a tad easier for Internationals , a lot of companies which do not hire internationals at the Undergrad level do hire at the Masters Level. In the case of both IBM and Intel , they do hire Masters Candidates.

pinku2002, I said companies hire internationals with the "right" credentials, not that an undergraduate degree was sufficient.

@bar!um , my apologies I thought you meant right credentials in the form of good grades , extracurriculars and all that jazz, not the required extra degree only to attain visa status!

Pinku2002, so u mean an int undergraduate student has a small chance to get H-1 visa?

I am an undergrad student, and I am studying Chemical Engineering at a pretty good university in S.F. Bay Area.
Which companies should I try to apply?
I am aiming for Intel, Chevron, Genetech and Dow.

Any more feedback?

Well I dont specifically know if these companies hire international students or not , definitely check out their websites. Your career center should be the best resource in telling you which companies are known for hiring international students in your field. Apply to all companies that you are interested in , and make sure you talk to representatives and stuff at career fairs.

I see..
OK. Thanks a lot pinku2002.

any other feedback?
