<p>Firstly you need to decide if you need a visa to study in the US, if you do then continue reading .
An I-20 is a document that a college sends that is used to obtain a f1 visa. You need to present it to the consular officer to process your visa application and need to present it to border/homeland security when you arrive in the US to study.
When you are accepted into college the college will send you the I -20.
