Hey I want to self study for us government. I know it has a really low 5 passing rate, is it possible? I self studied for chem and stats.

its definently possible, I did it.

I thought this test was one of the easiest tests i took. Maybe because i am very aware of politics and i guess this may have helped me. A lot of the topics info seemed obvious to me, its just the terms and procedures you are going to have to learn.

A lot of US history is tied to this as well, but i think this test is one of the best tests to self study for.

Yeah, definitely possible. I self studied it this year, and I'm positive that I got either a 4 or 5. The test is really easy...I ONLY used a Princeton Review book, and I knew most of the stuff on the test (including the FRQ's).

:D I did SUPER on this test!!! I used cliffnotes and princeton review - princeton review is very nice and concise, but I felt that it was missing a few pieces, while cliffnotes had a WHOLE LOT of info, but much of it does not pertain to the test. I think that the best thing to do would be to go over cliffsnotes first, and then a week before the exam read through princeton review. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE SAMPLE TESTS ON THE COLLEGEBOARD WEBSITE~!!!! Some of the multiple choice questions on the sample test on the collegeboard website were ON THE AP EXAM ITSELF!!!!

self studying for ap gov is really easy, and I guarantee that you can get at least a 4 without much effort; its much easier than self studying for chem (i self studied chem too)!

really? it seems easy since its a semester course. But why do less than 9% get fives? that's way lower than any other ap exam.

If you're naturally interested in politics, this is very possible. It has a lower five rate because the curve is smaller due to the relative ease of the material tested. Also, the material does prove challenging to a lot of people who don't have any preparation beforehand in government: I knew many people in my class that had not the slightest idea of the differences between the Republican and Democratic parties, and they seemed to struggle the most. They just don't keep up with politics.

I would (assume) that its because the curve is more strict than the other tests (because gov is easier and the curve does not have to be more lenient...?) Do you know the amount of people that get 4s on the exam?

well, they are here: AP United States Government and Politics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
