would it be a bad idea to take the US HISTORY SAT 2 Subject Test with my knowledge from my AP US class and my AP US test prep book?

NO--it is a GREAT idea. Take it in May, right at the same time as the AP test. Unlike some other SAT II's, which might not be exactly like their AP counterparts, US History AP and SAT II are highly similar. There were even a couple of questions/charts that were almost exactly the same. I didn't study that much for the AP exam (Our class made a study guide for each chapter of our book, and I read that over a few times. Our teacher also basically mandated that we take practice multiple choice exams, so I did two of those. The only special thing that I did was that I copied down each question that I got wrong on each of those tests and the correct answer and I made SURE that I knew each of those answers--I had them memorized. This might sound silly, but it paid off--collegeboard recycles questions, and at least 5 of those questions came up on my AP test, either in original or slightly modified form). I got a 5 on the AP exam (I am a good writer) and a 780 on the SAT II with ZERO extra studying.

advantagious--i think you took the same ones i did--may of last year?

yeah i didn't do quite as well as advantagious on the sat ii, b/c i'm an essay kid, not mc...but the combo is great, and takes a lot of stress out of the process. and there are DEFINITELY repeat questions...silly CB.

Yeah, I took them May 2006 Zel. So you can back me up...there ARE repeat questions. The only downside to doing this was that I was kind of tired at the end of a week of AP testing, but it was really fine...just don't stay up late that Fri. night or anything!
