<p>It’s hard to exactly address what is or isn’t addressed on the different tests. I’d say the differences are more in the different approaches to testing. </p>
<p>That said, the sat II US was very fact-based. While the AP test practically assumed you had the relevant facts down and was more analytical. Generally the SAT II is sometimes considered easier just for that fact. </p>

<p>I found the AP test to be easier since I studied for it more, but I’m pretty sure they’re about equal in material, except as erik said AP is more analytical.</p>
<p>SAT is just multiple choice. AP has essays.</p>

<p>I thought the types of questions were similar. I agree that the SAT was a little more fact-based, but it wasn’t completely different. I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference if somebody gave me a US SAT II test and said the questions on it were AP questions.</p>
<p>As for difficulty of the SATII, S got a 5 on his US Hist. AP exam in May and a 710 on the SATII in June. He felt well-prepared for the test and rec’d 710 without additional study.</p>
<p>SATII is far easier.</p>
