Hello all I was wondering what US History programs there are on the East Coast. I am currently a sophomore and have a deep passion for US History. I have taken 2 years of US History (including APUSH), as well as qualifying for nationals in the US History Bee and participating in the History Bowl. However I would like to spend my summer expanding my knowledge by doing a US History internship / research program. Are there any prestigious ones out there ? Please let me know if you have heard or have experienced any programs involving US History. I would be open to programs that cover all histories too.
@sportskid1212 What region do you live in? If you live the DC area, look into the Smithsonian internship at the National Museum of American History.
"The National Museum of American History internship program allows a diverse group of people with innumerable interests, strengths, and goals to encounter an educational environment where they can work with and learn from professionals and scholars in related areas of concentration. The Museum offers interns of different backgrounds incredible opportunities in a variety of fields, from public relations to exhibition research to project design. Learning from knowledgeable mentors in the dynamic atmosphere of the Museum and Washington, D.C. area, interns enjoy an intensive experience as multifaceted as the Museum itself. Designed around specific Museum projects, internships are available in the following areas: archival science; curatorial research and collections; design and graphics; jazz history and public programming; public relations and communications; museum management; music history and programming; education and public programs production; textile and paper conservation. For research, take a look at the National Writing Board and the Concord Review:

For internships, the NY Historical Society also has year-round and summer-only internships:

And the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian has internships during the school year and summer as well (the summer deadline is February 1):
Finally, the College of William and Mary has a pre-collegiate summer program in Early American History:

Those should give you some starting options.
If you are interested in the Early American History program at the College of William & Mary, I would talk to the user MrMicawber who I believe participated in it this past summer. The professor who teaches the course, Jim Whittenburg is highly regarded at the College and also has rave reviews on ratemyprofessor
@renaissancedad Thank you so much for your help! I am already interested in The Concord Review / National Writing Board!
@shawnspencer I will definitely look into the program as it seems pretty cool. Thanks for your help too.
