US History SAT II before or after AP exam?

Sorry if this has been asked many times, I can't seem to find it, though I'm probably just blind...

Would you guys suggest taking the SAT II in May right before the AP exam or in June a few weeks later? I've been trying to make up my mind but both sides have benefits and downsides and I'm stuck...

take it in may.

that's what i'm doing.

I asked this a few weeks ago, and I think I've decided to take the SAT II in May, because I have to the SAT I as well. So I figured I'd give myself a month of just SAT I studying, seeing as how I'll be reviewing for the AP test anyways in May.
Does anyone know what book would be best for the SAT II?

i know that doing the may one will be right in the groove of AP studying

but, assuming the SATII is for a current AP class, is there any chance that the class would not be done teaching new material?

also, if the june SAT date is the saturday b4 finals week, would it be wise to schedule an SATII for which there's no final (ie AP class where we're only doing a yr-end project)?

i know this is confusing, but any opinions are appreciated, thanks

Whenever you're ready.

this is the same question i am debating on.....june seems better to me tho idk for some reason..a little more studying will be better

btw, is taking the US hist Sat 2 even like any good? ive heard colleges ask for chem, bio, math Sat II's.....so Us hist one seems kind of not worth it.

what if a person does bad on a Sat II. I heard that when you send Sat II's to colleges, colleges see all of them and not just the ones that you want them to see. Is there any way one cancel the scores if they are bad ( below 600).

is the material finished usually b4 may?

yeah you should be done before may wiht probably a week (maybe more) of review. if your class is behind, you might need review time to get up to present day. im taking subject tests in may cause its gonna be a pain to have to review all the material again in june when its already fresh from studying for aps and as the course should be done by then

i took it in june, but i think either may or june should be fine (if you take it in june, though, you could potentially have extra time to study)...

Take it in May, because it's damn good practice for the AP test- the questions on SAT II US are virtually of the same type that you can find on the multiple choice bit of the AP exam.

should i practice the SAT2 questions for APUSH before taking it? or should studying for the AP Test be enough?

paki, the AP test is more general than the SAT II test. there are more specific questions on the SAT II test - for example, specific cultural people. check out this thread - it's from the SAT II i took in november. you can see that there were questions about peggy eaton, FDR's quarantine speech, and billie holiday. APUSH is not that specific. for that reason, i would practice SAT II questions too.

Take the subject in May.

It'll help you review for the AP, and after AP exams are over, do you really want to study whatever subjects you're taking again for the subject test?

I think not. But who knows, maybe you like that sort of thing.

if sat2 is more specific, it means AP test is easier? People say Sat2 is more important than AP test since they are actually reported....so shouldnt you wait til june to take it to review a bit more?
