US History SAT II "Official" Thread

I put Texas and the Phillipines also, which I think is correct. When was Florida forcibly taken?

Oh, and for the curve, I head that you supposedly get up to like.. 13-15 wrong and still get an 800. I heard that and my brain did a little happy conga line in my head, but then I took the test.

No more conga lines for me.

I put Portugal for the first... all I rememberd was Prince Henry and his school of navigation. And I think the first people to come to America from Europe were the Vikings? That's not one of the questions- I'm just wondering..

I also put Portugal. Vikings didn't systematically explore the Americas though.

i did spain but thats wrong i guess. no one seems to think spain is right, so ill go crawl back into mediocre scoring sat II ushistory land. lol
just kidding. with the 15 wrong-800 curve, i think i did pretty well.

If I cancel the test, will the score report say that I did? Will it look bad for the colleges if I cancel this test?

as far as i know, they wont see your score or that you canceled if you do.

F)

I forgot the other choices..... what is the answer?

There was 1 q with the 15th or 16th admendment ....

I don't know if the Netherlands explored before Portugal did, but Spain is definitely after Portugal. Spain entered the competition late in the game, and Columbus went to Izzy & Ferdie after he was rejected by Portugal.

I second the Senator McCarthy question.

I think the McCarthy one is freedom of speech and expression, but I could be way off. The others just didn't seem to make sense.

Also, was the reason the U.S. entered WWI because of unrestricted submarine warfare or the Luthisiana? It's pretty much both as one is the effect of the other....

On the map, COMPLETE women's suffrage started in the WEST... am I right ?

Overproduction was the main reason that led to the Great Depression....

A) They freed them & send them back to Africa
B) C) D) F) ....forgot the other choices.....what was the answer

What was the main cause of Andrew Jackson's impeachment ?

C) Ralph Waldo Emerson
E) Nathaniel Hawthorone
F) Herman Melville

What was the MAIN reason why Richard Nixon or I think America moved out of the Vietnam war?
A) Persistent college student protests
B) Vietnamese troops
C) ?
D) ?

And I remember one asking about Korea and McArthur .....

The reason the U.S. entered WWI because of the Luthisiana.

US told Gernmany to stop submarine warfare. They did stop submarine warfare and their Uboats for a period of time and later resumed again. Germany took the risk and sunk Luthisiana (a British cruise liner) but had (American) civilians inside.

US was outrage. Then US went join the war.

I also know that the telegraph of Germany asking Mexico to become their allies and fight against US and in return that they will get back Texas and California was another reason but forunately it wasn't in the answer choices..

I think its because of unrestricted sub warfare.. Germany sunk Luthisiana, but then it issued the Sussex pledge. Then Germany announced that it was recommencing unrestricted submarine warfare, and breaking the Sussex pledge, and that's when the US entered WWI. So yes, we entered after the sinking of Luthisiana, but not immediately after.

YES

umm leif ericson explored america first and he was from the neitherlands
the sinking of the boat caused the sussex pledge then the germans broke their pledge which led to war
federalists supported the bank (loose interpretation)
mcCarthy was critisized for freedom of speech
and i dont remember the question about manifest desitiny but im sure as hell it has nothing to do with the monroe doctrine

it wasn't manifest destiny, wasn't it asking about the term that meant how people could determine whether or not to have slavery in that territory - popular sovereignty?
