US History SAT II

Forgive me if this thread already exists but I am looking to prepare for the US History test in approx. 3 Weeks and was wondering which book involving good summaries as well as tests would be recommended....

i'm using barrons but I don't know if the questions are on par in terms of difficulty with the real test.

I found the sparknotes book with the online tests to be very good. Barrons is the best for over-preparing along with REA. If you want that over-prep confidence go with Barrons or REA, but to be honest i found the SAT II didn't have anywhere near that sort of detail. Make your own mind up by buying the official college board history practice tests and then evaluating your needs. US History is so popular so just google search for released exams, they are everywhere!

AMSCO book, REA book

Barron's is mediocre, I think.

What do you guys think of the Kaplan book??

Why is the Barron's mediocre? Thats what I been using. It seems like it has a lot of details. I plan on reading all of it along with some sparknotes..........

Im sure barron's is fine but don't get discouraged by their practice tests; they are crap.

the REA book is what i studied with and i felt like it went exactly with how the SAT 2 subject test for USH

Kaplan for review... then official practice tests from CB.

i used barrons and got an 800

I used AMSCO and got an 800. It matched everything on the test pretty much perfectly. It is the best book in my opinion.

I used AMSCO and sparknotes and got an 800.

Like people have said, AMSCO has pretty much everything you need to know for the test, and the free tests on sparknotes help you locate your weak areas.

illogic, the tests on sparknotes are free? i thought you have to buy them..can you give me a link to the free ones?

Sparknotes give you one free test per account, so I just made a bunch of accounts so I could take them all.
Did the same for SAT I and AP tests.

A bit of extra work maybe, but worth it for me because I'm cheap.
