<p>Engineers deal with people all over the globe on a daily basis. It would be hard to do without being sociable. The ones I know visit and decide which vendors will produce the products they design. Not all outsource to China and one location. And there is follow up supervision of the vendors.</p>

If things get that bad, then maybe careers in law enforcement will be the most secure.</p>
