US National Chemistry Olympiad

I'm from Colorado, which has two regions. I just took the local exam, which seemed much harder than those of previous years.

I believe I will place second in my region, but I feel my scores will be lower than previous second place scores (though curve might be better?).

I am worried that, although I placed high, I will not be able to take the national exam.

Do the top students in each region move on, or do the top several scores of BOTH regions in the State move on?

I think the students who advance are based on each individual local section, and not just the whole state with all the regions.
