US Naval Academy and High School Classes

Hi I'm an upcoming junior and i'm debating whether i should do AP Chemistry or Physics for the Naval Academy..I'm doing Summer Chemistry and i think AP Chemistry would be somewhat more understandable since it's still fresh...but i think the navy is more into Physics

Can anyone help me with this situation?

Hey!

If I were you I’d pick the subject that I’m strongest in. I don’t know if the Naval Academy accepts AP credits, but if you’re confident about your admission you might want to start thinking about what major track you want to take in school.

In the long run, choosing between the two shouldn’t factor heavily into admissions (unless its dramatically changed over the past few years). Above all focus on your SATs, maintain a high/decent GPA, and round out your extracurricular activities/sports. But you probably knew all of that already.

Also. Don’t write off West Point or the AFA. From what I’ve heard, Physics and Comp-sci are especially the way to go in the Air Force if you’re into that kinda thing.

Also Also. Academy admissions can be a crap-shoot. I highly recommend starting the paperwork for NROTC scholarships this year as well. Academies are cool and all, but we’re all O-1s when we get out to the fleet/big army/big air-force.

The academies do not accept any transfer credit, the snarf. AP would be used for placement.
