Wow. I have no idea. If I ran the Academy you’d be exactly what I was looking for. I bet you have a great chance. There are a couple of threads here that might be helpful if you search and I found this forum that might be useful. Good luck.

Work on the fitness test. I see you are a shot putter so maybe you are an above average size guy. Can you do the straight arm pull ups? They can be tough for big guys. Can you run a 6:30 mile or close to it? Also make sure you have no disqualifying physical conditions like colorblindness. Your academic stats are premo. You should be a very strong candidate. Good luck.

Pull ups I can definitely knock out 10 from dead hangs. Running may be where I fall because I am larger and flat footed.

Have you met with the academy recruiters yet, and done any of the summer camps at USNA? What kind of congressional nomination are you going to pursue, and have you contacted your congressman or senator’s office yet?

You look like a fantastic candidate. I love what brawny77 suggested, but if you can do 10 pull-ups, then that is great. Make sure that you review the pre-candidate booklet to make sure you are doing the pull-ups properly or they won’t count. The other thing is that your CFA means you do ALL parts right after each other. PRACTICE these in the order they will be given in the test and let that be your gauge on how to train and prepare. The flat feet concerns me in passing the DoDMERB, so don’t highlight the fact you have somewhat flat feet to your ALO/B&G Officer or the doc! One other suggestion is to look into IC for your area in track and field. If you are state-ranked, then contact the USNA/USAFA/USMA/ USMMA coaches to see if you could be a recruited athlete. Remember that applications for you for summer seminar (Leadership) opens around the December time frame, so apply for that as well. The rest of your resume is truly eye-watering, I’d love to have you as one of my USAFA candidates!

Finished USNA Summer Seminar:

CFA 1 Results:

Pull Ups : 11
Sit Ups :60
Push Ups: 61
Shuttle: 8.7
Mile: 7:15
Throw: 68 Ft.

Here’s a table that may help you know where you stack up in the CFA, mightytiger98:

Numbers for Males (Need to fall within 10% of first number), the second number is the max
Basketball: 69 - 102
Pullups: 11 - 18
Shuttle: 8.8 - 7.8
Situps: 80 - 95
Pushups: 60 - 75
Mile: 6:40 - 5:20

Your Basketball throw, pull-ups, shuttle, pushups are right on the mean but your sit-ups are 20 below average and your mile is off by 35 seconds. I think this is really good for a first attempt, but you should take it again and be sure you practice doing ALL of these in your workouts. It’s the cumulative effect that kills you! It looks like by the time you got to the mile, you were wiped out. An average means that there are those who score above and below, but shooting for the mean also means that you’ll pass. Remember you get to only submit two official CFA scores (if you don’t pass the first set that are sent in, then you’ll get a letter telling you that you failed and need to retest, if you don’t pass the second time, you’re done.) You also need to check and see if USNA already turned in the CFA (if you have an open application started.) If they did, then the application will indicated if those scores were “accepted” and have a check mark next to them (which means you passed).
