US New Rankings

Maidenmom - my D is at Wellesley, and she has a few friends there who did choose Wellesley over Harvard. And why shouldn’t they? You know, when Consumer Reports rates cars, it’s still up to me to decide whether I value looks, or fuel efficiency, or repair records, or cars-made-in-the-US. It’s amazing to me that there are people who are really so stupid as to think that there is one universal ranking that all should follow and that #1 should trump #2 and #2 should trump #3. Use the rankings for the info they provide, which is tremendously helpful, and to understand general bands of quality. Honestly, the people who are really taking minute differences seriously are just sort of screaming “hick follower” about them.
