US NEWS 2007 Predictions

Where the HELL is NYU? Never mind it's #34. I kinda missed it because it was listed under New York University.

Oh yeah, there are only three things I'm willing to guarentee: Death, Taxes, and that one of HYP will always be #1 of the USNews rankings...

Must we forget ever so quickly that Caltech was number one in 2000? Nevertheless, it won't happen again anytime soon.

Yes we must. Who the HELL wants to go to CalTech (they sent me stuff...I'm like pshaw, I'm not going unless you have a top 10 finance department-even if you offer a scholarship) anyways? If I had those kinds of grades, I'd go to Wharton.

Do you think Tulane is going to drop or rise, since the hurricane hit? What do you all think?

Sadly, it'll probably drop even though the last accepted class ('09/'10 architecture) had the best stats of any accepted class ever. I think the admissions rate dropped from like 45% to 32% or something ridiculous like that last year. Now with engineering being cut, I can't imagine Tulane going up even though in my opinion it should.
Maybe it's my personal bias (like everyone else here with their school), but I got an easy 3.5 at Brown when I went there. . .I'm struggling with a 2.5 at Tulane.

Harvard

Princeton

Yale

Penn

Duke

Stanford

MIT

Caltech

Columbia

WashU / Dartmouth

I think the top of the list (HYP) will probably stay the same. Wash U might climb up more. I think the Duke, Stanford, MIT, Caltech range can change. But Penn will probably remain at 4th. Columbia will probably remain at 9th.

Oh, come on...this whole ranking business is silly...

Northeastern is on an upward trend. Based on the stats of last fall's class (best ever), it should move up in the rankings. Northeastern also added 35 new tenure track professors as part of a overall plan to add 100 new profs by 2008. This should lower the school's student/faculty ratio and average class size.

Northwestern you mean?

No, Northeastern. I was replying to a prior post on this thread.

This is a ridiculous thread. Rankings don't come out until August I think.

Im always surprised Cornell isnt higher on these rankings

I always thought they came out around April, because my subscription expires on March 31st.

That's the graduate ranking. The undergrad ranking subscription expires in August the day they issue the new ranking.

All Michigan, Virginia and Berkeley deserve to be in top 20 together once.

Emory, Vandy, Notre Dame should be out of top 20 together once, to leave the space for the top 3 publics.

^yeah I also think that notredame vandy and emory shouldn't be above those 3 public schools

I disagree. I'd much rather go to the private schools.

University of Rochester shall be much higher than it is ranked now!! It should be in the top 20!!

Lol, theres also people who would rather go to bob jones than UVa, you're being silly.

I'd rather go to NYU than UVA...

Notre Dame has one of the best alumni networks in the country and its alumni are strongly represented at the best grad schools.
