US News 2009 College Rankings

Early reports -
Both USMA and USNA are ranked as Liberal Arts Colleges - i.e. more than 50% of students earn a degree in the Arts & Sciences.
(USAFA is ranked as a regional university).

2009 - USMA = #14, USNA = #22
2008 - USMA = #22, USNA = #20

Looks like West Point is getting the respect it deserves.

Thanks, JustAMomof4 - with this new ranking I can go over to the USNA site and stir things up a bit!!! :) They will, of course, come up with 20 different ways the US News rankings are biased, miss something, a West Pointer must be running the numbers for them, etc. etc. etc. They should never have stopped teaching Midshipmen how to use a sextant - it's a slippery slope for them.

BigGreen--you little devil!!! :0

Perhaps the 'slippery slope' is a non-grad of either Academy being where he doesn't belong and trashing those who attend one of our SAs. Maybe he will appropriately slide off.

Hey...well, ok....anyone think the Russians will be leaving Georgia soon?

Way to go, USMA!

Best Engineering programs - Undergraduate:

5 - USMA

6 - USNA - (tie with Olin)

8 - USAFA - (tie with Bucknell)

Not to shabby for our Service Academies.
