That may be true on the graduate level, and that’s reflected by rankings of universities that aren’t USNWR (an undergraduate ranking) in which those schools are higher than WUSTL, Emory, etc. I don’t think I’ve seen a comprehensive ranking that places Berkeley/Michigan below WUSTL/Emory.

Barq,
Those were 2007 data, almost two years old. But we were talking about USNWR ranking and I pointed out that Michigan has a slightly higher “selectivity rank” (post #143) which is entirely a USNWR ‘terminology’ … thus we have to go with the latest USNWR data. UVa’s selectivity rank should improve when the new ranking comes out in a few days.

If you ask me, the two schools have about equal selectivity.

I am always skeptical of any ranking leak…none over the years has turned out to be accurate…I remember one kid who said his dad worked at US News and was adamant that his list was right…it was wrong. Especially when this leak from the OP only had 21 posts on this forum before he posted that “leak”.

Last year’s leak was accurate. IIRC, it only was leaked a few days before the magazine release date, but it was still a leak and it was still accurate.

It was actually something like 5. The rest of his 21 posts were made after this post. I admit that it’s sketchy, but his other posts seem to be intelligently constructed. In addition, the list just makes sense, unlike most other leaked lists.

It doesnt matter anyway because he failed to come up with the LAC’s and the rest of the top 100 Nationals. Last year’s leaker came up with all of it.

We will know on Wednesday next week, I think.

Good one Blue. Funny. Thanks, but if I see it in hard copy on the racks, I wont be posting here. In many respects, CC has outlived its usefulness and is very long in the tooth. JMHO
